Careers
We look for individuals that have an entrepreneurial spirit to not only grow the company but help our clients in growing theirs too. Our recruitment practices ensure that the right person is not only matched to the right job, but that the people we hire are a perfect fit for our unique culture.
Every day at Harvest
Our HR department places a lot of care and emphasis on designing and implementing the type of office culture and environment that keeps our people engaged, activated and involved.
One of the key things that make working at Harvest fun is the diverse and fun-loving group of people, and they play a very active role in deciding what initiatives are implemented for the improvement of our culture through our Social and Events Committee.
Monthly Social’s are undoubtedly the highlight of our days here at Harvest. The last Friday of every month we all get together for some fun and games. Whether its Movies, Spitbraai, Mogodu or Breyani, we try to incorporate different themes into our monthly socials and since we like to keep the environment light and easy we have games and challenges such as Jenga, Idols, Cards or fitness challenges. Our socials are always fun-packed.
Our company is made up mainly of young people, with this being the first job for almost 40% of them.
Wellness
Employee Wellness is an important part of our talent management strategy. We have different initiatives mostly centred around fitness. Whether it’s our annual Biggest Loser challenge, our quarterly boot camps hosted by qualified Sports Scientists and/or Body Conditioners, or us taking part in races such as the 702 Walk the Talk; we try to encourage our staff to live a healthy balanced Lifestyle.
We believe any approach to wellness for employees must be holistic and have introduced Mental Health awareness campaigns as well as offer Group counselling and support with a qualified Psychologist. To this end, we recently introduced E-days which is a company-wide paid shutdown to allow our people the rest they need to recharge.
Training & Development
We believe strongly in equipping our staff not just for their current roles but for future possible roles, in and outside Harvest. One of our biggest objectives is employment creation and creating sustainability through structured straining and study assistance support. We offer 12 days of study leave annually, and up to 32 days for our SAICA trainees. We also assist employees with 50% towards their tuition for formal undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.
Employee Newsletter
Our internal newsletter called “The Bottomline” is published every two months. This newsletter is designed and edited by our HR department and is aimed at keeping employees across all our branches in touch with our group activities, planned events and upcoming projects. As all the branches visit Head Office at least once a year, it is an important tool to get our staff to know their colleagues better which is essential for our environment to thrive.
